SECTOR EXPERTISE EDUCATION LAW

It can be disappointing for both parents and children if they are not allocated a place at their preferred primary or secondary school. There is a right to appeal this decision, which is something Tollers can help with.

Secondary school decisions are released on 1 March 2010 and primary school decisions are released 21 April 2010. The appeal will need to be made in writing or by email to the admissions authority of the school by a date specified in the allocation letter received by parents. An appeal hearing will then be held where an independent panel will look at the case. This usually takes place between May and July.
