Our team consists of Commercial Property lawyers led by Andrew Rudkin, a Partner and Head of Commercial Property Unit.
We act for investors, developers and occupiers needing the advice and negotiation skills that can only be provided by specialist property lawyers. Our commercial property team offers flexibility and the ability to act quickly on its clients' behalf, dealing with all aspects of property transactions. When required, the team operates alongside our other business legal units to provide a seamless service covering commercial, corporate and employment issues.
Our team is very conscious of our clients’ needs to proceed in accordance with agreed time limits, commercial objectives and prevailing financial conditions. Reporting to our clients on a regular basis and being in touch at all times, to keep the client informed, is central to our service philosophy.

Meet The Team
Partners
Andrew is a Partner and the head of the Commercial Property Team within Tollers. Andrew qualified in 1975 and has spent his career dealing with commercial property issues.
Andrew worked in Glaxo Smith Klein’s legal department in London for 5 years advising the Company’s Managers on its property matters and on various other commercial issues.
Andrew now acts for many developers and investors and has a great deal of experience in the assembly of land for development, options, sale contracts conditional upon successful planning applications and other business joint ventures. He also acts for Landlords and Tenants in the negotiation of leasehold documents.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys playing Tennis and Golf.

Lucy trained and qualified as a solicitor at Wragge & Co in Birmingham, one of the largest law firms in the UK. She joined Tollers in 2004 to work in the Commercial Property Team in the Northampton office of the firm and is a Partner. Lucy supervises a property lawyer based with her in Milton Keynes.
At Wragge & Co, Lucy acted predominantly for large property developers; both commercial and residential. She is well versed in all aspects of property development including negotiation of Section 106 agreements, development agreements and all aspects of construction law. In particular Lucy acted for a large national commercial developer involving the acquisition of a multimillion pound site for redevelopment as a shopping centre, which was at that time the largest out of town retail development in the UK. She acted for a number of national residential developers in relation to site acquisitions comprising up to 1000 residential units.
Currently Lucy works for prominent local commercial and residential developers and also undertakes investment portfolio work.

Claire is a Associate solicitor within the Commercial Property Department of Tollers and based in our Northampton office.
Claire joined Tollers in 2003, following completion of the Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, where she graduated with a distinction. Following a year working in the firm’s Litigation Department, Claire undertook her training contract with Tollers, joining the Commercial Property team in March 2005.
Claire qualified as a solicitor in March 2006. Since qualification, Claire has undertaken a wide variety of commercial property matters for individuals, companies, partnerships and local charities. Claire acts for both Landlords and Tenants of commercial premises. She also works alongside colleagues in the firm’s Corporate Department on business acquisitions and disposals involving leasehold and freehold property.
Claire also deals with the acquisition and disposal of freehold properties, on behalf of both occupiers and investors, as well as providing clients with general property advice.
Claire’s interests include travelling, cycling and going to the gym.
Claire is also a member of our specialist Charity Law team.

Having joined Tollers as a Trainee in 2006, Erica has gone on to qualify as a Solicitor within the Commercial Property Department.
Erica has undertaken a variety of residential and commercial property transactions. Her work ranges from the acquisition and disposal of property, to acting for both Landlord and Tenant of commercial premises.
Outside of work, Erica is a keen sportswoman and regularly plays football and squash.
